CONVERSATION APPEAL - CLUB HERITAGE WINDOWS

Dear fellow Members

I am delighted to advise that arrangements are now fully in place with the National Trust to offer Members tax‑deductibility for contributions to the Club’s window conservation project. I write to personally invite you to join me in supporting this important initiative.

I would like to acknowledge the work of my predecessor, Howard Tanner AM, who initiated discussions with the National Trust. Their endorsement reflects the heritage significance of our building and the importance of ensuring its careful preservation. Members may now make contributions through the National Trust and receive the benefit of its tax‑deductible status. Similar arrangements exist with heritage clubs in Adelaide and Melbourne.

A dedicated National Trust account has been established in the name of the Club to receive donations and to secure these funds exclusively for the approved conservation works. As previously outlined, the project encompasses repairs to joinery, glazing, sash cords and leaded weights, together with finishing and painting. These essential works will also require scaffolding; Council permits and appropriate street‑level safety measures. The total project budget is $200,000, with the capacity for staging as funds allow.

I encourage you to contribute to this conservation appeal, helping ensure the continued preservation of our Club for generations to come.
Contributing is straightforward, and donors will receive a National Trust‑approved tax receipt enabling access to the tax deduction. A flyer with full details is attached.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the life and future of our Club.
